Paul & Sharyn Branson, founders

Paul grew up in Victoria, BC Canada, and Sharyn grew up in Ft. McMurray, AB Canada, later moving to Victoria with her family. Paul was 15, when he accepted Jesus into his heart. Sharyn was 16 when she came to know the Lord. After graduating high school, Sharyn put herself through school studying education, and then changing to medicine while Paul worked with his Dad in the construction field. In May 1991, Paul and Sharyn married in Victoria BC, Canada. In 1995, they started their mission training with a Discipleship Training School onboard the M/V Anastasis with Mercy Ships. On December 24, 2001, their son, Noah, came home and on December 24, 2004, their daughter, Samantha, came home.

In June 1997, Paul and Sharyn moved from Canada to the Dominican Republic to work with the poor through evangelism, construction, school sponsorship, hosting mission teams, and medical ministry. Paul directs all of the construction, Biblical teaching, and evangelism departments of the ministry and leads mission teams with Sharyn. Sharyn directs the medical clinic, the sponsorship program, accounting, correspondence and communication.

Ana Maria Quiroz, Ministry Administrator, Dominican Republic

Ana Maria has been serving the ministry since 2004 as the medical clinic secretary and nurse. She keeps us and our patients organized but most importantly, she loves and ministers to every person who walks through the clinic door. Ana Maria is not afraid to share about her love and faith in God. While patients wait to be seen by a doctor, Ana Maria is getting to know our patients and sharing about God with them. She will not hesitate to say what God wants her to say and takes the time to pray with and for our patients. Ana Maria is recently widowed and has four children: Katherine (married to Fernandito with one son, Eduari), Olwardy, Olvardi and Cristian.

Dra. Wendy Diaz, General Medicine, Dominican Republic

Wendy has been serving at the clinic as our primary doctor since 2008. She is Dominican certified in general medicine as well as the pastor of a local church alongside her husband, Pablo. Wendy takes the time to get to know her patients, find out exactly what the problem is and treat as best as she can. Wendy will also ask about the spiritual needs of our patients. She never hesitates to take the extra time needed to talk with a patient, give some spiritual counsel and pray for and without patients. Some patients return just for prayer, even after the medical need has been cured. Wendy and Pablo have three boys ages 5 to 11yrs old; David, Emanuel and Eliam.

Daniel Garcia, Asst Team Leader, Maintenance & Garden, Dominican Republic

Daniel started serving with the ministry in September 2011. Daniel’s job description is varied among many duties. He is Paul’s right hand whenever we have a construction team in country and helps with many things with the teams. Daniel also takes care of the maintenance for the clinic and ministry property. He assists with the School Sponsorship program with everything from paying the schools when sponsorship donations arrive to talking and praying with the kids and their families in the sponsorship program. Daniel is married and has two children. He had been praying to be able to work for a ministry for many years and we are honoured to have him serving with the ministry.

Nena Delgado, Team Cook & Sponsorship Program Assistant, Dominican Republic

Nena is our ministry cook. She cooks amazing meals for all our teams while the teams are here working hard and ministering hard. Nena and her husband, Fausto, are pastors of a local church with a congregation of about 40 people. Nena also runs the Saturday Sunday School program at her church and the church in Pedregal. Fausto and Nena have four children. Oscar, Daniel, David and Noemi. All the children speak and read English and sometimes will help out our teams by translating (when they are not working hard in school). Nena and her family are a real blessing to the ministry.

Mechy Abreu, Clinic Secretary, Dominican Republic

Mechy has been serving the minisry at the clinic for many years. In 2013, we were able to hire her for the position of full time clinic secretary. Mechy keeps everything and everyone well organized at the clinic. She is the first face that our patients see when they arrive. Mechy is very caring to everyone and their specific needs.

Melanie has started to work with the ministry in 2012 as a translator for our mission teams that come down from Canada and the Unites States .
